Chloé kick-starts RobertJohnson’s birthday celebrations, by coming first in a series of four live recordings direct from the club. Hypnotic electronics and purring drum machines descend into deep crunchy techno that takes in tracks by Innersphere, DJ Koze, Samin and legendary house producer Larry Heard. Delivered in a stylish 12-inch booklet with trippy artistic cover, there are three disc slots for other Robert Johnson residents Prins Thomas, Ivan Smagghe and Gerd Janson to complete the series later this year. “It’s an honour for me to do the first one,” Chloé says. “I’ve been resident at the club for

We share the same vision in the electronic scene, so doing the mix CD was just another step in the collaboration.” Owned by DJ Ata from Playhouse, Robert Johnson has fast built a name for itself as the hottest club in Europe. Set beside the River Spree in Offenbach, just outside of Frankfurt, their mantra is simple… a totally flexible approach to music; they don’t believe that a DJ should be limited to an hour and a half set.
